Abstract

Despite rare occurrence of arteriovenous fistulas, the problem of its diagnosis and treatment is relevant due to complicated clinical course and polymorphism of this pathology. With the advent of the occluders it became possible to treat patients with major arteriovenous malformations with endovascular approach, which previously were considered only a surgical problem. In this article we present a case report about first stage treatment of a 4 year old child with complex multiple arteriovenous malformations. Successful endovascular occlusion with Amplatzer Vascular plug II occluder of a major malformation in the upper lobe of the lung was performed as a first stage of surgical treatment
