Abstract

Objective. To estimate the amount and structure of the costs of the healthcare system of the Russian Federation for the purchase of domestic and imported pacemakers in 2018–2023.

Material and methods. The data of official statistics approved by Rosstat for the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation (statistical observation form No. 14 “Information on the activities of departments of a medical organization providing medical care in inpatient conditions”) of the subjects of the Russian Federation are analyzed.

Results. The volume of costs for imported pacemakers in the Russian Federation remains at a high level and in 2023 amounted to 23.61 million US dollars, which is estimated to be 60% of all expenses for these purposes.

Conclusion. Given the constant growth in demand for pacemakers, it is necessary to introduce additional measures to support the development and production of domestic pacemakers, including at existing production sites.
