Abstract
Aneurysm right atrium appendage (ARAA) is an extremely rare anomaly of the heart. According to the literature, at the moment, several dozen cases of this pathology have been described in the world. Due to the unclear etiology, there is still no standard treatment method. Complications in the form of thrombosis of the ARAA lumen and episodes of rupture of the aneurysm wall are an absolute indication for surgical intervention. In this article, we report on a 32-year-old young patient with a giant ARAA, an intrathoracic form of sarcoidosis and atrial flutter that is not amenable to conservative therapy and endovascular treatment. ARAA was diagnosed, using radiological examination methods and surgically removed, using cardiopulmonary bypass (CBP). The role of CT and MRI of the heart was very important for the exclusion of the cardiac form of sarcoidosis and helped in determining the boundary of resection and predicting the volume of the residual cavity of the right atrium.References
