Abstract

This review article focuses on the role of cardiopsychology as a key component in the rehabilitation of patients after cardiac surgery. It examines the importance of psychological support at various stages of treatment, including preoperative preparation, rehabilitation, and hospital discharge. An analysis of current data on the impact of anxiety, depression, and cognitive impairments on cardiac surgery outcomes is presented. The literature search was conducted using databases such as PubMed, the Cochrane Library, Scopus, and the Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI), employing keywords including: cardiac surgery, cardiac rehabilitation, psychocardiology, psychological interventions, and emotional distress after heart surgery. The review included articles published mainly within the last five years, as well as landmark studies that have shaped approaches to multidisciplinary rehabilitation. The findings emphasize the importance of integrating psychological interventions into standard rehabilitation programs to enhance treatment adherence, quality of life, and clinical outcomes in patients undergoing cardiac surgery.
