Abstract
The rate of ischemic heart disease (IHD) in patients with metabolic syndrome (MS) is more common than in general population. The complications of IHD develop earlier in the setting of MS, than without it. The IHD with concomitant MS and/or diabetes mellitus (DM) has more malignant progressing – up to painless myocardial infarction. Unstable angina, myocardial infarction, heart rhythm disorders are more common in patients with IHD and glycaemia disorders. Congestive heart failure, diffuse lesions of coronary arteries, including distal sites of a coronary bed develop at this category of patients in less time. MS is a risk factor of complications at open heart surgery. The efficiency of treatment in these cases considerably depends on early diagnostics which provides special relevance and importance to a problem of risk factors of metabolic disturbances.References
