Abstract
What date must we indicate as the birthday of coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG)? This question arises from recent publication of medical historian David Jones. The most important event in the history of CABG was probably the first successful case of Rene Favaloro performed 50 years ago, in October, 1967. In this paper we try to state other main landmarks of the history of CABG in connection with some problems like so-called emotional burnout and truantism.
