Abstract
We present two clinical cases of aortic valve replacement according to the original Ozaki technique requiring additional aortic root enlargement. The first case was the surgical correction of the aortic defect with a narrow fibrous ring in combination with subvalvular stenosis. The second one was the case of narrow fibrous ring and stenosis at the level of the sinotubular ridge. The implantation of the leaflets in such situations is technically complex and is accompanied by the high risk of aortic rupture. In order to widen the aortic valve area and to prevent the obstruction at the level of aortic root the fibrous ring and the aortic root were enlarged using Nicks– Nu~nez technique. The possibility of combined application of these techniques has never been described before. These clinical cases indicate the efficacy and safety of the method.References
