Abstract
Author analyzes the results of The ISCHEMIA trial (International Study of Comparative Health Effectiveness with Medical and Invasive Approaches) compared an initial invasive versus an initial conservative strategy for patients with chronic coronary artery disease and moderate or severe ischemia. There were no major differences in most outcomes during a median of 3.2 years and extended follow-up period up to 7 years despite lower 7-years rate cardiovascular mortality with initial invasive strategy group. Quality of life also improved with an initial invasive strategy.References
