Abstract

Patients with concurrent lesion of coronary and carotid arteries represent the great interest and have been the subject of ongoing discussion as it is difficult to choose management tactics due to the high risk of severe complications such as myocardial infarction (MI) and cerebral stroke. In home and foreign literature there are a lot of works covering methods of surgical treatment. But the large randomized controlled trial has not been conducted as it is difficult to select patients. Decision regarding revascularization of carotid arteries should be taken jointly with participation of neurologist and surgeons in consultation and considering particulars of the patient as well as be based on the specific level of risk for each patient and expertize of a given hospital
