Abstract
Transradial artery access in the last decade has become widespread in the performance of coronary interventions, both diagnostic and therapeutic. This trend is due to a lower incidence of complications with the use of transradial access in comparison with femoral access. The fact that today’s low level of complications was achieved as endovascular specialists mastered the technique of transradial access indicates the need to study all the technical nuances of its implementation, possible complications and methods of their prevention and treatment.Nevertheless, a significant increase in the volume of endovascular procedures performed through transradial access leads to an increase in the absolute number of complications associated with it. The importance of preventive measures for their prevention is due to the need to preserve a functioning radial artery for repeated endovascular accesses, for the use of the radial artery as a coronary conduit, or for the imposition of a fistula if it is necessary to transfer the patient to permanent hemodialysis. This review focuses on the main complications associated with the use of transradial access, as well as measures for their prevention and treatment.
