Abstract

A rare clinical case of hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy with extreme hypertrophy of the interventricular septum in a 16-year-old boy is presented. The patient complained of shortness of breath and discomfort in the retrosternal region during exercise. The examination revealed an extreme thickening of the interventricular septum up to 48 mm, obstruction in the outflow tract of the left ventricle with a pressure gradient of 110 mm Hg, unstable jogging ventricular tachycardia at night and in the morning. Considering the high risk of sudden cardiac death, an individual plan of treatment was developed for the patient.
